Activate Beast Mode: EA Softball to Host 14U Tryouts June 13 at Livingston Parks and Recreation

Activate Beast Mode - EA Softball to Host 14U Tryouts June 20 at Livingston Parks and Recreation

Livingston, LA — EA Softball is calling on the region’s most competitive athletes for a 14U-only tryout on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Livingston Parks and Recreation (29405 S Range Rd, Livingston, LA). This exclusive opportunity is open to players born in 2010, 2011, or 2012 who are ready to compete at the highest level, in a program where development, discipline, and dominance define the standard.

This is not just another open field workout—this is a targeted, high-intensity evaluation for players serious about their softball future. EA Softball is known for running competitive rosters and fostering a culture where commitment, not connections, earns your jersey.

“We’re not looking for players who just want to be on a travel team,” said Tommie Spencer Jr., Director of Operations for EA Softball. “We’re looking for those who bring intensity, work ethic, and the mindset to compete every single rep. We’re building a true 14U squad—one that shows up to win and works like it.”

A Tryout Designed for the Hungry

EA Softball has made its name in the region by doing things differently. The June 13 tryout is designed specifically for athletes who train year-round, take private lessons, and are actively chasing next-level goals. It’s an environment where only effort, skill, and coachability speak—not politics.

Players will be evaluated on a range of skills, including infield and outfield skills, hitting, speed, and game awareness. Coaches will also be looking for intangible qualities, such as grit, focus, and the ability to take instruction under pressure. We’re not just watching mechanics-we’re watching how you carry yourself, how you respond to coaching, and how badly you want it. This comprehensive evaluation process ensures that every aspect of a player’s potential is considered.

“We’re not just watching mechanics—we’re watching how you carry yourself, how you respond to coaching, and how badly you want it,” added Spencer.

Who Should Attend

This tryout is open to players born in 2010, 2011, or 2012 who are eligible for 14U competition. Athletes should arrive 20–30 minutes early and be dressed in full softball gear, including cleats and softball pants. A water bottle, a proper mindset, and a competitive edge are all required.

This is not a recreational tryout. The coaching staff is looking for athletes who are ready to travel, train hard, and contribute to a high-level program with clear expectations and a winning mentality. If your player is not ready to commit to this level of intensity, this may not be the right opportunity for them.

No Politics. No Favorites. Just Performance.

In a space where travel ball politics can cloud opportunity, EA Softball continues to push back by building teams based on grit and grind, not name recognition. The program prides itself on evaluating every athlete equally, creating space for the most prepared to rise.

Coaches Jonathan Seal and Tommie Spencer Jr.

Coaches Jonathan Seal and Tommie Spencer Jr., both with extensive experience in competitive softball, will be leading the tryouts. Their expertise and commitment to developing young athletes make them the perfect guides for this journey.

“Our players know exactly what they’re stepping into,” Spencer said. “It’s a system that rewards work and demands effort. There’s no guesswork. You either earn it or you don’t—and that’s how it should be.”

“We’re not looking for part-time intensity—we’re looking for beasts,” said Spencer. “If that’s your player, we’ll see you on June 13.”
