  • Titanic shits in the chat app and social media sphere coming as Twitter de-thrones the US president and other country leaders like Erdogan in Turkey insisting his citizens should drop Whatsapp and use “local solutions”
  • Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger give users an ultimatum: leave the platform or accept new terms
  • SnatchApp and Signal standing out as the platforms with the strongest privacy, with SnatchApp being the only app that integrates with an AI chatbot platform for business

WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger

With over 2 billion users worldwide, the encrypted messenger application WhatsApp has prided itself on being a privacy-focussed service. However on the 8th of February 2021, this will all change. In an announcement on Wednesday, WhatsApp said that its users will have until the 8th of February 2021 to accept its new conditions or access to the application will end.

This means that users will have to share personal data such as phone numbers, contacts and their location with Facebook and its subsidiary companies. Users have put out a call for others to delete WhatsApp and move to smaller, encrypted messaging services such as SnatchApp.

Elon Musk, the Tesla billionaire and current richest man alive also called on users in a tweet to switch Services.

WhatsApp was bought by Facebook in 2014 and gave users an option in 2016 to opt out of sharing information with Facebook. The app’s founders Brian Acton and Jan Koum parted ways with the company with reports that Koum clashed with management regarding their approach on user privacy.

Facebook Messenger does not fare any better regarding user privacy issues. Any messages sent through the application are not end-to-end encrypted and therefore not private. This means that any message can be intercepted and viewed as plain text.

SnatchApp

With over 500 000 downloads globally on Google Playstore, SnatchApp has climbed the ranks as one of the WhatsApp alternatives. The creators behind the artificial intelligence chatbots are brothers Henri and Avi Benezra.

The app has helped countless businesses to keep their operations going during the global pandemic. The company has aimed to keep SnatchApp the most “private and secure” application. An important aspect of any application in a time where cyber security is being threatened.

The global pandemic has caused many businesses to fail due to their inability to transition to the online world. Companies see SnatchBot and SnatchApp as viable solutions as the revolutionary technology is able to assist in managing tasks as well as client consultations.

Avi Benezra has stated: “This is a revolutionised technology that will continue to stick as a long-term trend. It will be a positive change for many businesses and can even help them financially.”

SnatchApp is free to download making it appealing to many who are looking for an alternative. The recent update gives users the fastest version ever and is available in over 53 languages.

As a relative newcomer in the digital communications arena, the app already has over 2000 reviews on Google Play with a rating of 4.2 out of 5 with Zoom receiving a rating of 3.6 out of 5.

SnatchApp is available on all major platforms and can be downloaded via the below links.

iMessage and  Signal

Since the Whatsapp policy update, another app that is grown in popularity is Signal. The app is available for download on IOS, Android and Windows. The encrypted messaging service is an open source platform that ensures privacy for its users sharing messages and media.

For iPhone users, iMessage is an alternative to Whatsapp. It also provides its users with end-to-end encryption. Apple has stated that they put privacy first and that they are unable to access the messages. The app which also lets users share stickers, songs and more does not have access to users actual contact information or conversations.

The preferred option

As competition continually rises in the online communications world and the need for privacy has increased among application users, WhatsApp has been dealing with an increase of competitors. The apps mentioned in this article are only a fraction of what is available in the market.

With the new policy and privacy updates by WhatsApp, it is not surprising that its competitors are in a race to scoop up a part of its market share up for grabs. However, with so many options available to choose from, which one out performs and is worth your time.

If your main concern is keeping your data private, SnatchApp is a must. Not only do you get end-to-end encryption and a company that is determined to be the most secure in the business. You also get other great features such as:

  • Voice changer – Change the pitch of your voice and get creative.
  • File Share – Send files to other users safely and securely.
  • Timer – Messages self-destruct after the timer goes off.
  • Hide option – Able to hide messages that need to be kept private.

All these phenomenal features just add to the fact that the company takes privacy very seriously. Read more about SnatchApp privacy and security on IBTimes: https://www.ibtimes.com/avi-benezra-masterminded-snatchapp-become-most-secure-messaging-app-3038408
