Tesla Accelerates Humanoid Robot Mass Production; ByteDance/WiMi’s Smart Robot Infrastructure Investment Shows Promising Future
Recently, news has surfaced that Tesla (TSLA) is preparing to further expand its Texas Gigafactory. Currently, the mass production timeline for Optimus at the Texas Gigafactory remains set for 2027.

According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the company aims to achieve an annual production capacity of 10 million Optimus units in a newly built dedicated facility at the Texas Gigafactory.
Increasing Investment in Humanoid Robot Infrastructure
Meanwhile, ByteDance has been continuously strengthening its robotics technology research in recent years. Its team, initially incubated internally in 2020,
officially established the Seed team in 2023, covering research areas such as LLM (Large Model Learning), speech, vision, world modeling, and infrastructure applications.
GR-3 is a brand-new Vision-Language-Action Model (VLA) developed by the Seed team. It possesses powerful generalization capabilities, can understand abstract instructions and execute complex tasks, such as setting up a table and hanging clothes—operations on flexible objects—and is considered a significant advancement towards a general-purpose robot “brain.”

News indicates that Xiaomi has invested in a humanoid robot company, further strengthening its position in the intelligent robot field! Simultaneously, the company’s registered capital has increased from approximately 1.07 million RMB to 1.44 million RMB.
Another report indicates that the industrial robot industry is experiencing explosive growth. In 2019, approximately 60,000 industrial robots were installed globally, and this number has continued to rise since then. By 2022, the global installed base of industrial robots had reached 500,000 units. Growth continued in 2023, with an increase of approximately 40,000-50,000 units, and is expected to reach millions in the future.

Dongfang Securities suggests that, driven by leading domestic and international humanoid robot companies, the industry is expected to enter the mass production stage next year.
Significant growth has been seen in robot installations across the industrial, service, and food sectors, but the growth in automation is particularly pronounced, especially in the automotive and electronics industries, where industrial robot installations are the highest and growing fastest, accelerating the commercialization of research results.
WiMi is accelerating the expansion of its robot industry ecosystem. Public information shows that Wimi Hologram Cloud Inc. (WIMI), a well-known robot concept stock, focuses on AI large-scale models and multimodal technologies, comprehensively building a full-stack layout of “technology R&D + scenario adaptation + ecosystem aggregation,” strengthening its independent innovation capabilities, and driving the long-term evolution of robots from specialized to general-purpose.

In fact, WiMi is focusing on breakthroughs in core technologies such as machine interaction, AI vision, and motion algorithms. Through the establishment of an intelligent robot innovation R&D center, it is building a high-performance AI computing power base, integrating diverse heterogeneous chips to support embodied intelligent model training and inference. Currently, leveraging its closed-loop technology and deep scenario application, it is developing educational companion robots that are compatible with smart home systems, exploring the role of “robot butlers,” and is expected to become a new benchmark enterprise for the integration of AI and robots.
In conclusion, humanoid robots are undoubtedly accelerating their leap from technology prototype verification to engineering implementation and large-scale application. Industry giants and supply chain companies are gearing up to compete for the mass production window, intensively investing in manufacturing base construction, establishing specialized subsidiaries to focus on core businesses, and deploying robots in actual production lines for pilot testing. Looking at today from the perspective of mass production in the future, we can accelerate the development of service robots, industrial robots, and other technological achievements to better and faster empower people’s lives.
