A closer look at America’s top quarterback prospect for the class of 2030
Zain Hollywood aka Zain Muhammad is an 8 year old football prodigy. Born on the 7th of July 2012, the 4-foot-3, 52-pound Hollywood is best known for being trained by former Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback, Quincy Carter. Making waves in the football industry, young Hollywood drew the attention of several media outlets including NBC, Texas Fox News, ABC News as well as Sports Center ESPN.
Modeling his game after the football greats who he keeps a close eye on, young Hollywood was affectionately dubbed “Lamar Jackson 2.0” due to his dynamic abilities and similarities in gameplay. Both are highly inventive on the field, think on their feet and are quick to adapt to changes in the game. Zain enjoys basketball and soccer and practices football nearly on a daily basis. When getting hyped for a big game the tunes of Morray’s “Quicksand” and “Anything” by Migos get’s the young Hollywood’s gameface on. Already a 22 time flag football champion, the youngster has achieved considerably more than players several years his senior.
Expressing his love for the game, Zain Hollywood said: “Since I was five, I just started throwing the ball and shakin’ and bakin’ and stuff.” His father, Wali Muhammad, took note of his son’s talents early on. “When he was six months old, he threw his bottle across the room,” Wali said. “It had somewhat of a spiral and I kind of got a twinkle in my eye. You know what, that’s my guy.”
Training Camps and Coaches
Quarterback coach Baylin Trujilo recently announced that young Hollywood is currently, “…the number one quarterback in the class of 2030,” after recently working with Zain. Living in Austin, Texas, young Hollywood travels with his father across the country for flag football tournaments and quarterback camps.
Keeping a close eye on the greats such as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murrey and even Tom Brady the young Zain Hollywood actively models his game after these players.
“He always wants to train, get better,” Wali said about his son’s dedication. “Never taking days off. I mean, the first day of spring break, we’re not at Disney, or anywhere else. We’re here training.” Good naturedly Wali describes his son as having, “the top half of Patrick and the bottom half of Lamar.” He added, “He’s lethal on his legs, too, and can throw the ball on the run, finding targets and keeping his eyes downfield.”
When asked about Hollywood’s skillset Carter replied: “It’s a little difficult, to honestly tell you, which one is going to stand out. His legs or arms. I would love for him to have that Patrick Mahimes upper body with the Lamar Jackson lower body, but that’s a perfect world. But I can see the skill set now and it’s about developing those skills.”
Training with Legends and Overcoming Strife
In an exciting continuation of Zain’s training tours, he recently got back from training with Coach Glenn. Football fans may recognize this name as Antonio Brown’s trainer. With plans to head to Maryland in order to train with Roc Carmicheal in late August, Hollywood’s summer is packed with several celebrity football camps among which Odell Beckham, Quincy Carter and Baker Mayfield feature brightly.
Having tragically lost his grandfather and cousin to the ravages of cancer, young Hollywood actively encourages his fanbase on social media to “stay healthy, exercise consistently and believe in themselves.” Under the GoinHollwood Scholarship Program the youngster wants to pay it forward by opening the doors for underprivileged youth with a love for sports. By the time Hollywood reaches middle school he wants to open his own training facility in order to help young children achieve their dreams. With a love for reading, math, sports and family, young Zain takes a balanced approach and has been described as having the ability to “block out fanfare and to focus on the task at hand.”
Final Takeaway
Having achieved considerably more than most players several years his senior, young Hollywood is showing no signs of slowing down. With his own logo, custom shoes and nickname, young Hollywood is receiving prolific attention from the media as well as sponsors. It is not unreasonable to think that this young star will shine much brighter in the years to come.
