On March 15th, the AMC Movie Theater in Menlo Park became a hub for thoughtful discussion and community connection, thanks to a special screening of the documentary “Abundant,” hosted by Espresso Mio’s CEO Vinnie Lisi. The event is expected to draw a sizable crowd eager to explore the powerful themes of altruism and the human capacity for extraordinary generosity.

“Abundant” delves into the world of non-directed kidney donation, following a group of individuals who chose to donate kidneys to complete strangers. The film documents their journey as they come together to create a live staged storytelling show, sharing their personal experiences and motivations. Through these compelling narratives, as well as interviews with leading experts, the documentary raises profound questions about our cultural understanding of abundance and the potential for greater altruism within our communities.

“Why is it so difficult for some people to give so little and so easy for others to give so much?” This central question, explored throughout the film, resonated deeply with attendees, prompting reflection and dialogue long after the credits rolled.
