Southwest Airlines has canceled more than 1,000 flights this weekend, disrupting the long weekend plans of thousands of pandemic-weary travelers. In a media statement on Twitter, the nation’s largest domestic airline blamed bad weather combined with staffing shortages, garnished with a Federal Aviation Administration traffic control directive.
