Sam Haskell Shares The Top 10 Holiday Movies Streaming On Netflix

It’s the Fall, and that means holiday movies! Holiday movies always make us feel good, whether it’s a hearty laugh, a much-needed cry, or an uplifting to our spirits.

There are many holiday specials streaming on Netflix this year, and you may not have time to watch them all so here are 10 of the best in no particular order.

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square: 

Sam Haskell, Dolly Parton, Maria S. Schlatter, and Debbie Allen have produced Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square, another Dolly Parton holiday movie to put a smile on your face and a glow in your heart.

The movie is about an embittered Scrooge, played masterfully by Christine Baranski. Her character, Regina Fuller, owns the town of Fullerville and right before Christmas, plans to turn it into a giant mall and evict all of the inhabitants. The townspeople need help, and they need it fast.

With the arrival of Dolly Parton, who plays an angel, Regina is taken through her past and shown how to love again. The film features 14 new and original songs by Dolly herself!

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square debuts on November 22.

Jingle Jangle 

People are already saying that Jingle Jangle is destined to be a holiday classic. It’s an original holiday musical film starring Phylicia Rashad and Forest Whitaker, and follows an eccentric toymaker whose granddaughter goes on a quest to reclaim her birthright, her grandfather’s most prized invention, stolen by his apprentice. The music for this incredible movie was written by John Legend, a delightful music maker all on his own.

Jingle Jangle debuts on November 13.


Two good friends, Sloane, played by Emma Roberts, and Jackson, played by Luke Bracey, agree to be each other’s friendly date for the holiday season. Not expecting romance or passion, the two seek to just have some fun. While often making fun of the tropes of the holiday season, Sloan and Jackson find that the holidays always have magic in the air, and they soon find more of a connection than they ever could have imagined. The movie also stars Jessica Capshaw, Kristin Chenoweth, and Alex Moffat.

Holidate debuts on October 28.

The Knight Before Christmas 

In this heartwarming magical movie, Vanessa Hudgens plays Brooke, a science teacher who befriends a medieval knight who’s been teleported to the modern-day holiday season by an evil sorceress. Brooke helps her knight navigate the modern world and how to get back home, but as they grow closer, our knight wonders if he even wants to return to his medieval home.

The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two 

This is a follow up to the successful 2019 film, The Christmas Chronicles and is another family-friendly adventure. Kurt Russell plays Santa Claus, and Russell’s real-life partner Goldie Hawn plays Mrs. Claus. Kate, one of the starring characters from The Christmas Chronicles, is now a moody teen. Santa and Mrs. Claus work to restore happiness to the joyful little girl they used to know while fending off bad influences who want to crush her holiday spirit.

The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two will debut on November 25.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas 

This live-action remake of the classic original stars Jim Carrey since its release in 2000 and has become a classic all on its own. All the inhabitants of Whoville enjoy celebrating Christmas except the mean Grinch. When a six-year-old girl, Cindy Lou, becomes interested in the Grinch, his heart melts, and he starts to understand the meaning of the holiday season.

The Princess Switch: Switched Again 

This is yet another sequel to a successful Netflix holiday film. It stars Vanessa Hudgens as Duchess Margaret and her twin Stacy. Duchess Margaret has recently inherited the throne of Montenaro. She needs Stacy’s help to have a social life yet balancing it with the responsibilities of being a royal. But there may be too many doppelgangers. There’s now a third “double,” also played by Vanessa Hudgens: this one is a party girl named Fiona.

The Princess Switch: Switched Again will debut on Netflix on November 22.

Holiday Rush 

Rush Williams is a famous New York DJ who has spoiled his kids around the holidays since their mother died. When Rush loses his job, he must reconnect to the simple message of love, while reaching out to his children.

Bad Moms Christmas 

A sequel to the 2016 movie Bad Moms, bad moms, Amy (Mila Kunis), Kiki (Kristen Bell), and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) remind you why they’re not the greatest mothers in the world. They then discover what happens when their own moms visit for the holiday season and get a taste of their own medicine.

A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby 

The third movie in the incredibly popular Christmas Prince Netflix series takes us back to the holidays in Aldovia, where Queen Amber and King Richard are expecting a child. But while waiting for their prince or princess to be born, they must rectify a huge misunderstanding with an allied country.
