Japan’s PM Kishida to meet Chinese leader Xi at APEC

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is to meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Bangkok on Thursday, officials said. The meeting, scheduled for the eve of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Bangkok, would be the first between the top leaders of the two neighbouring economic powers since December 2019, which marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China.
