Rehab and Fitness for All

There are many drivers behind the company’s mantra of “Rehab and Fitness for All.” Foremost are the beliefs that rehabilitation and basic movement exercises should be accessible to everyone no matter their race, income, or location on the globe, and all people should be able do so without ever having to go to a gym, learning new equipment, or purchasing the latest gear. This is part of why they see themselves as a healthcare disruptor.

By making these routines accessible to anyone with an internet connection, CEO Chris Meyer feels they will unburden an already overburdened global healthcare system with their preventative and aftercare routines. The company has a signature approach – all workouts are created by ACE certified trainers and each one has been vetted by a doctor, a physical therapist, and an occupational therapist. “Our routines are created and approved by the very professionals who are educated and trained to get people well again,” said Meyer. “It was vital to us as a company to ensure that was the case.”

From Personal Trainer to Healthcare Disruptor

We operate in the space PRIOR to the point people traditionally think of as “exercise.” We are for people who need basic, rudimentary help or a starting point. In doing so, we are particularly proud of our over one hundred bed exercises to help those either confined to a bed or currently immobile, toward living a healthier life. All movement, even the smallest kind, initiates blood flow, which stimulates recovery. We then provide two more levels from a chair to gradually get people up and standing at our third and final level. We simply believe all people are owed this basic human dignity.

After seventeen years of personally helping clients as a certified trainer herself, COO Peggy Skaggs wanted to address clients’ needs wherever they were in their personal fitness journey. This was further reinforced when her son was released from the hospital after a major knee surgery to recover, with only a few exercises on a sheet of paper. His insurance provider did not even recommend physical therapy, but he knew he needed rehab to get back to full strength and mobility. When multiple friends shared similar harrowing stories of rehab and recovery, Skaggs realized her son’s experience was not unique. “Our platform fills a critical need in our world. I knew if we built it, they
would come.”

Loved Ones Focus the Mission

CEO Meyer also wanted a way to help families taking care of loved ones at home (like his family did with his grandfather), those who couldn’t afford costly assisted living communities. “We felt there were millions of families around the world who were precluded from proper care for their loved ones, so we built an easy-to-use platform that everyone could both access and afford,” explained Meyer. “We simply do not believe that cost should EVER be a factor in getting people healthy and well again.”

Also, both CEO Meyer (grandfather) and COO Skaggs (mother) have personal stories of loved ones afflicted by a memory disease. Due to their family histories, they created an entire neurobics, or aerobics for the mind, series at three progressive levels, from the most afflicted, to any person who desired brain exercises to keep and stay sharp. “My parents are eighty-three and they need more than Sudoko and crossword puzzles,” said Meyer. “So, our trainers created mind-body exercises of all kinds for mental fitness and acuity.”

Meyer finished, “I know we are addressing a systemic global problem for getting (and keeping) people healthy in the most professional and affordable way possible. And then we brought it into the world’s living rooms. In doing so, I am certain we will play a new, yet critical, role in the future of global healthcare.”
