Germany without Sané for World Cup opener against Japan

Germany will be without Bayern Munich midfielder Leroy Sané for their World Cup opener against Japan on Wednesday. The German football federation (DFB) said on Tuesday that the player missed the team training and will miss the game due to a knee issue. Sané was among the top candidates for the starting line-up at the tournament in Qatar. All other 25 players will be available to coach Hansi Flick, DFB said.
