German interior minister wants constitution amended for cybersecurity

Germany’s constitution needs to be amended to allow the federal government to play a more aggressive role in cybersecurity matters, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said. “We want to strengthen defence and give the federal government a leading role in this,” Faeser, of the centre-left Social Democrats (SPD), told the Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland. Faeser said she wants to make a proposal to this effect before the end of the year and get the conservative opposition on board.
