By Leah Montebello The European Commission has opened an in-depth investigation to assess the proposed $68.7bn (£59.5bn) acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, following the lead of UK regulators. The commission said it was concerned that the proposed acquisition may reduce competition in the markets for the distribution of console and PCs video games and for PC operating systems.
