China’s foreign minister cancels meeting with Japanese counterpart

Amid tension over Taiwan, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has cancelled a planned meeting with his Japanese counterpart Yoshimasa Hayashi, a spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry confirmed in Beijing on Thursday. Wang was due to meet Hayashi on the sidelines of a meeting of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh.
