BR Soldier Outreach is in dire need of your help. They have had a record number of requests for their May shipment, but they were only able to fill 738 bags due to a lack of donations. 506 bags are still waiting to be filled.

“This is a call to all to help support our troops by filling these bags. It is so important that we show our troops that we care and appreciate all they do for us,” said Christy Smith, BR Soldier Outreach founder.

This is where you come in. The BRSO is asking for your help filling these bags and supporting our troops. This is an important way to show our troops that we care about them and appreciate all they do for us.

There are many ways you can help out. You can fill out a form on their website, donate items or money, or even help stuff care packages at one of their events.

Every little bit helps, so please consider donating to this worthy cause. The BR Soldier Outreach team thanks you for your support!

About BR Soldier Outreach

Founded in 2008, an informal group of people met up at a local motorcycle dealership to ship care packages to deployed troops.

In July of 2017, they obtained their 501c3 and became BR Soldier Outreach.

“We saw a growing need to support our troops deployed overseas and those serving here at home. Our goal is to make sure no service member is forgotten,” said Christy Smith, Founder, and CEO.

What started out as a few individuals has grown into a large group of volunteers who work tirelessly to support our troops. They do it all, from collecting donations to packing and shipping care packages!

Every quarter, the organization gathers names of service members from the greater Baton Rouge community and outreaches to those soldiers to bless them with comfort items they could use while deployed.

“Our quarterly care package events are at the core of what we do. It’s a great way for the community to come together and support our troops,” said Smith.

To date, BR Soldier Outreach has shipped 14,529 individual care packages and 619 bulk boxes totaling 128,852.69 lbs.

This has cost the organization $54,170.91 in postage, all donated by the generous people of Baton Rouge.
